Have A Holly Jolly... Holiday Card

Every year I greet the holidays with the same mix of excitement and sheer panic. I love the festive spirit and gorgeous decor that seem to magically pop up along with the Christmas carols on the radio at the beginning of November. But I dread the rushing, the planning and the to-do list I can never seem to quite get through.  At the top of my list is always our holiday card prep.  Inside or outside? Casual or formal? Matchy-matchy or pops of bright color? Sepia toned or black and white? Smiles or no smiles? Professional photog or a strong selfie game? When it comes to our annual holiday card photo shoot, the options are endless and the decisions loom large like the growing list of people I still need to buy presents for. This year I paused to consider do I even want to do a card at all?! It's been a hectic and emotional 2017 and I felt that maybe this was the year to just quietly take it off of my to-do list. However after much pondering and honest input from sweet friends, I realized that these cards are not solely about the cute clothes or the cuter kids. These are about marking a year of this crazy life so I will always remember that we were together and we loved and we laughed even when stuff was tough. These pictures chronicle the growth of my children which changes so quickly that I can only truly grasp it when I look around my house at these captured moments stolen and sandwiched in between soccer games and ballet classes. These pictures are a gift I give to myself because they bring me joy and I share them with my nearest and dearest in the hopes that they will return the favor and I will get to share a little bit of their joy during this busy and bustling time. Do I have all the answers? Nope. Are my cards perfect and drama-free? No way! But I am here with a little bit of honesty and plenty of styling advice. Feel free to comment below if you need a little inspo or want to chat mustard and navy vs. mauve and aubergine. Seriously, planning holiday card looks is my not-so secret passion. And keeping with the giving spirit of the season I've also rounded up some great discounts and promos happening now on all my favorite photo sites.  See details below:
