A Summer Night Spent @ Carmela Ice Cream Co.

Summer nights were made for impromptu ice cream dates and late bedtimes. Lil' A and I were flying solo this past weekend while the boys were at a soccer game when we decided we needed a sweet fix. With our matching kicks, the windows rolled down and our fave Bieber song on high we made our way over to our go-to ice cream spot, Carmela's. If you haven't tried it yet, you are missing out on this heavenly mecca of sweet treats. I really believe that ice cream tastes better when served in a quaint shop with chandelier lighting and an adorable vintage ice cream cart outside. That may just be me... but I bet your curious now?! While my descriptive prowess might get you in the door, the decadent and seasonal flavors will keep you coming back for more.

"A" had her usual brown sugar vanilla which is actually rich and creamy with real vanilla beans. Most definitely "not your boring kids vanilla"!  I tried the rose petal because my summer fave, the amazing and practically fresh picked, Strawberry Buttermilk, was SOLD OUT. No, I am not kidding. This place is so good and loved by locals that they actually sell out of flavors. Not to worry, all of the choices are cleverly crafted and do not disappoint. The rose petal was light and delicate. The mint is refreshing while the aztec chocolate is decadence at its finest. Besides ice cream and sorbet, they offer homemade cupcakes, fresh marshmallows, cookies and gourmet coffee.  A sweet something for everyone!
